Catering provision for Term 4

Upon our return on Monday 8 March, each Key Stage 3 and 4 year group will have the option to purchase hot food and snacks at break and lunch time on one specified day of the week.

The table below sets out the day of the week each year group will offered this option.

Day Year group Serving point
Monday 7 Canteen
Tuesday 10 Library
Wednesday 8 Restaurant
Thursday 9 Maths corridor
Friday 11  Main hall

For those families who have been ordering grab bags, this provision will continue. Please continue to order the grab bag for your child in the normal way using the following link:

Lunch order form for Term 4

Your child will collect their food in the normal way from within their pod. Sandwiches will also be offered alongside the hot food options but will not be made to order on that day. Therefore there will be no conflict with your order (using the above form) and what your child collects on the specified hot food day.

Years 12 and 13 will have the option to order food in advance and it will be delivered to the Sixth Form Study Centre. More information for these two years groups will be shared directly with the students.

Please ensure your child’s Wisepay account has sufficient funds on it.

Arrangements for Tuesday 26 January

First and foremost, I wanted to take the opportunity to sincerely thank the site team, Manor Sports and Leisure team and other colleagues who have been in school today clearing safe pathways through snow. The result of their hard work and effort is that the campus is now accessible to staff and students. The key worker/vulnerable student provision and remote online learning can be reinstated from tomorrow, Tuesday 26 January 2021.

Whilst the school is open tomorrow to key worker children and vulnerable students, we are advising extreme caution travelling to and from school as well as on the school grounds. With temperatures predicted to fall below freezing tonight and plenty of snow on the ground, we are still expecting challenging conditions tomorrow.

Arrangements for Monday 25 January

As you will be aware, we have had a reasonable amount of snow locally today and it continues to snow in Raunds. This evening, Northamptonshire Police have advised that journeys tomorrow are minimised due to worsening road conditions overnight.

Although most of our provision is currently via remote learning, the snow does cause some additional issues as there are still students on site and staff travelling in to supervise these students. The bus company has also advised that many of the smaller village roads are not safe.

In addition, many of our staff will now have their own children at home due to the key worker provision being closed in other schools. Therefore, they are less able to deliver live lessons in the same way as we have been doing.

In the light of these circumstances there will be some changes to our current ‘normal’ provision for Monday 25 January 2021. At this stage we believe that the full key worker and vulnerable student provision will be open again on Tuesday.

January reopening

We have just watched the address from the Secretary of State about the return to schools in January. Unfortunately there is still a lack of clarity and detail around many areas and we want to consider the implications carefully so we can make the best and most informed decisions.

We do know that only vulnerable and key worker students will be physically in school from 4th January and Years 11 and 13 will be ‘live taught’ remotely during this week wherever possible. These exam groups will physically return to school on 11th, with all other students returning on 18th January.

We will write to parents by Friday 1st January outlining the details for all year groups, exams and provide an update on where we are with testing once the revised guidance has been carefully considered and further details provided.

UPDATE - the letter sent out on 31 December can now be accessed here.

If you require vulnerable/key worker places from 4th January (including Year 11) or IT support please complete our January 2021 school return form.
