17 June update
It is with regret that I am writing to inform you of changes we have been forced to make in relation to our transition programme for this term. As you will be aware from our previous communications, we were hopeful of delivering ambitious plans for transition. However, following guidance sent from North Northants County Council on Friday 11 June 2021, it has become very clear that we will be unable to deliver our programme in line with current recommendations. Our ability to host students from twenty different junior and primary schools and keep them in their current school pods for lessons as well as for break and lunch time is not feasible given the other year groups in school and the maintaining of their pods.
In light of this change, our uniform provider Karlsports, has kindly offered to host two evenings for families to visit the store and fit for uniform. On Monday 28 June 2021 and Wednesday 30 June 2021 between 3:00pm and 7:00pm, the store will be open exclusively to families who have children attending Manor School. Families can also order using this website: karlsports.co.uk. The store address and contact details can also be found on the website. We have been informed by Karlsports that are still confident of the two weeks turnaround from ordering of uniform to delivery. Please be reminded that Manor School will be providing all student with their first tie free of charge. Families are obviously welcome to purchase an additional tie if they wish.
It is our intention to proceed with our parents’ evening on Thursday 1 July 2021 as previously planned, although most appointments will now be held virtually. Those children with greater needs may well have their appointment in person with a member of our pastoral or SEND team. You will be notified by Friday 25 June 2021 of your appointment and the time.
Due to this change to transition arrangements, we are reviewing our Summer School provision and are hoping to offer spaces to current Year 6 students who will be joining us in September as Year 7 students. Mr Martin (Vice Principal) will be in touch with the parents/carers of the students we believe would benefit from an enhanced transition opportunity in summer holidays.
We are also currently reviewing the start of term arrangements for the next academic year so that we can provide a period of transition for our incoming Year 7 students before all other year groups re-join us in September.
I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you all for completing the Enrolment Booklet. This information, alongside the information provided by your child’s teacher, is helping us to prepare to receive your child and meet their needs in September.
As always, if you have any questions relating to transition, please complete our transition enquiry form using the link above.
