GCSE Exams: Summer 2020
As we approach the summer exam season, we hope that the information and resources available on this page will be useful to students and their families.
The Last 100 Days Calendar
The days, weeks and months in the run-up to the summer exam season are busy and there are a number of events taking place to support the progress and attainment of our students, including Curriculum Days, controlled assessment moderation sessions, wellbeing workshops, Scholars lunches, working lunches and holiday revision workshops. A copy of the calendar can be downloaded below.
Term 4 Revision
Term 4 revision focuses on core subjects in after-school revision sessions as follows:
Non-core subjects may run sessions on a Wednesday and Friday. These will be advertised by the Y11 tutor team in advance and via the Instagram account. We also encourage all students to make use of the space available (including the LRC) from 3:15 until 4:30pm each day.
As we approach the next phase of Year 11 students methods of revision need to refine to become more focussed on key strategies and techniques that will support greater progress. Curriculum Leaders have compiled a list of subject specific revision advice that is available to download below.
As members of the PiXL (Partners in Excellence) community, we are able to access additional resources to support independent learning and knowledge recall for our students. These materials have been downloaded and stored on our school OneDrive, accessed by students with their @manor.school usernames and passwords. All of the resources can be found here.
PiXL Power to Perform
We know that the build up to the summer exam season is busy, therefore it is important that students take care of their wellbeing as well as working hard on revising and preparing for this time. Please find the "PiXL Power to Perform Recipes" document below, designed to help students eat a balanced diet that will enhance students performance, contribution and energy.
Individual exam timetables will be issued to students shortly. A provisional copy of the overall exam timetable (including booster and power revision sessions) can be found below. Please be aware that students must be available for the entire exam period, which ends formally on Wednesday 24 June 2020, even if their final exam is sooner.
Mr Isaacs and Mr Bateman will be writing to parents and students monthly providing updates and key information over the next six months in the build up to the exam season. Copies are available below:
